Abstract
According to the current legal situation, the legal protection officers provided for in the Austrian legal system cannot be dismissed due to misconduct in office. The article first shows whether or which options for dismissing these state functionaries are permissible under Austrian constitutional law. In the following, going beyond this specific case, it is analyzed whether the Austrian federal constitution allows state officials to be given a legally inviolable position as a whole.
