Abstract

This article highlights a partnership between an historically Black urban institution, Lane College (Jackson, Tennessee) and a rural institution, The University of Tennessee at Martin (Martin, Tennessee). The purpose of the partnership is to provide urban - rural early field experience exchange for preservice students, conduct joint educational seminars, prepare preservice students for the National Teacher Examination (NTE), provide technological training, recruit minorities for careers in teaching, and establish a mutual assistance network for accreditation.
