Abstract
A number of improvements have been made in The University of Michigan 83″ sector focused cyclotron since its original construction. The reasons for the changes and the resulting improvement in the production of stable high-quality beams for nuclear research are described. A brief description of the total facility for research in nuclear structure is given.
