Abstract
The author took a decade to compile and put together this amazing work. The more one reads, the deeper the reflection on both the theories of university development, the triple helix, the importance of the third mission, the inclusion of civil society and communities; the relationship between pure and applied research, the extension of university links going beyond the triple helix into society; the varieties in the modes of internal organisation of research groupings and the relative autonomy of university research and a host of other relevant factors connected to deepening the research process, quality and experience have been fully and rigorously navigated with methodological clarity and closer scrutiny and care.
