Abstract
AbstractThe universal ureteral stent is an 8F soft silicone rubber tube 90cm. long with a zone of side holes marked with radiopaque material. This stent does not cause the discomfort associated with other ureteral stents and can provide immediate nephrostomy drainage if obstruction occurs. The universal stent is reasonably priced, and because only 1 size stent is needed, which has several applications, the size and cost of hospital stent inventories should be decreased.
