Abstract

In the previous significant works by Alt et al. (1982) [2] and Alt et al. (1985) [6], the existence of the two-dimensional asymmetric incompressible jet flow and compressible subsonic jet flow were established. However, the uniqueness of the asymmetric jet flow has remained an unsolved open problem. In this paper, we will establish the uniqueness of asymmetric jet flow not only for incompressible case but also for compressible subsonic case. Furthermore, as a byproduct, some properties of the jet flow are obtained, such as the location estimate and asymptotic deflection angle estimate of the jet in far field. Finally, a comparison theorem will be introduced to compressible subsonic jet flow.
