Abstract
Americans have little conception of what that means. To most of us Russian revolution was something that happened long ago, when the 1917 revolt overthrew the monarchy and the Bolsheviks seized power. In the Soviet view, however, true revolutions go lurching from spasm to spasm over many decades. They resemble earthquakes in which aftershocks follow long after the initial tremor -a series of them, in the Soviet case still going on.
