Abstract

The UNCITRAL Model Law on E-Commerce may improve its legal status as far as the conclusion of an electronic contract is concerned. The United Nations General Assembly adopted a Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts (UN-ECIC), which is open for signatures until 16 January 2008. The new Convention is aimed at reducing uncertainties as to the legal value of electronic communications in the context of international business contracts.
