Abstract
Inclusion bodies were observed in the cytoplasm of lymphocytes in blood smears from a dog which developed canine distemper. When examined by electron microscopy, the cytoplasm of the lymphocytes contained aggregates of nucleocapsid tubules. Similar material was observed in the cytoplasm of some monocytes and a few neutrophils. It is suggested that the inclusions seen on light microscopy consist of the nucleocapsid aggregates observed under the electron microscope.
