Abstract

In this paper, the ultimate strength of metal sandwich plates with connection structures under in-plane load is studied by the calculation method verified by the results of relevant literature. The results show that the error between the ultimate strength obtained by the calculation method adopted in this paper and the results of relevant literature is 0.9%, and the failure modes of these are relatively matched, which verifies the accuracy of the calculation method; The ultimate strength of cell model and convolutional model is basically the same under in-plane compression load, and the failure mode is mainly global buckling, supplemented by local buckling; The ultimate strength of sandwich plates under the combined action of different lateral pressures and in-plane compression loads is different, and the ultimate strength decreases with the increase of lateral compression loads, but the failure modes are the same.
