Abstract
I report on some preliminary Monte Carlo results obtained in collaboration with P.H. Damgaard. We find indications for symmetry restoration in the U(1)-Higgs model in a strong enough external electromagnetic field. Deep in the Higgs phase we observe the Meissner effect: the external field is expelled.
