Abstract

The two-phonon density of states was calculated by the Green' s function method in the frequency region corresponding to the overtone of internal mode ν 4(F 2) of molecular crystal NH 4Cl taking into account the anharmonic phonon-phonon interactions. The bound state is formed outside the two-phonon continuum at the fourth-order anharmonic coupling constant g 4 = 40 cm −1 in agreement with experimental Raman data for NH 4Cl crystal.
