Abstract
I use the prescription of placing the picture changing operators at the zeroes of some holomorphic one-formand calculate the two loop superstring vacuum amplitude in the language of theta functions. It vanishes pointwise on moduli space after the use of Fay's trisecant identity and generalised Riemann identities. I briefly discuss the higher genus case.
