Abstract

This section of the journal features current works in progress by scholars of Norwegian-American studies. Here researchers have an informal, non-peer-reviewed opportunity to alert readers of their work on a particular project, to think through ideas, and solicit feedback on developing research and writing. For this issue, editor Anna Peterson interviewed David C. Mauk about his work on the Twin Cities History Project and forthcoming book tentatively titled The Heart of the Heartland: Ethnic Identity in the Capital of Norwegian America, 1849–2014. Their conversation inspired Mauk’s writing of this essay.
