Abstract

This paper draws information from the CIA World Factbook dataset and implements statistical and machine learning tools to study the Turkey/Qatar and Egypt/UAE/Saudi Arabia blocs which dominate East-Mediterranean and Middle Eastern politics. The homogeneity, major differences and similarities between the two blocs are studied before clustering the five involved countries. Each cluster is then commented and conclusions are drawn regarding the nature of the conflict, IR theory and the characteristics or each bloc.
