Abstract

AbstractA more convenient formula (c. f. [2]) for the turbulent mean electromotive force u' × B' in the presence of a nonvanishing mean flow is derived by slightly modifying the representation ([2], [3]) of the Green's tensor Gij of the induction equation for velocity fields with constant rate of strain. Furthermore the existence of growing dynamo solutions of the induction equation of the mean field is analysed under the assumption that there is a linear relation with constant coefficients connecting the turbulent emf and the mean magnetic field.
