Abstract
Tuna is an offshore oil and gas field discovered in 1968 by the Esso/BHP joint venture in the Gippsland Basin (Fig. 1). It is located some 42 km off the Victorian coast in 60 m of water and was producing approximately four percent of Australia's daily total crude oil production at the time development drilling was completed in 1982.
