Abstract

Alternatives to conventional production system have emerged in recent years. Among these, organic production stands out. In Brazil, the commercialization of organic products with or without certification is formalized. Therefore, this paper analyzes the evolution of certification for organic products in Brazil and discusses the adherence to each of them by the producers and their motivations. The material presents data collected in the National Registry of Organic Producers. The data indicate that individual certification predominates due to the possibility of access to the external market and the difficulties of organizing producers. Keywords: formalization; certification; organic; Brazil.SOUZA, Raquel Pereira de; BATISTA, Angelita Pereira; CÉSAR, Aldara da Silva.
