Abstract

Complications involving the extensor mechanism following total knee arthroscopy may account for up to 50% of all revision procedures associated with early clinical failures, with the reported incidence of patellar fractures as high as 21% in some reports. The purpose of this review article was to provide an overview of the risk factors and treatment options for this potential complications of total knee arthroscopy.
