Abstract

Four variations of the thought-stopping technique were applied to a color-naming obsession of 8 years' duration. After 17 treatment sessions the frequency of this obsession had decreased by 95%, and a month later it was entirely absent. It did not recur in the course of a 7-month follow-up period. Other, related obsessions also decreased considerably.
