Abstract

This paper investigates the foam injection in a fractured porous medium modeled as a thin layer surrounded by the other two. We show the formation of the single foam front using the traveling wave solution, which is characterized geometrically as a wave that moves with a constant velocity, maintaining its profile over time.To allow this analysis, we derive a formula describing the foam front velocity in n-layered porous medium extending previously known results for two layers. All the theoretical analysis was validated through the computation simulations of the realistic model using parameter data from laboratory experiments.
