Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarity of the transformation of Biblical-Christian and ancient subjects, motifs and images in Valery Shevchuk's novel Petro Utekly. The issue of the artistic dualism of the work is considered - the combination of the ancient and Christian aesthetic systems, the philosophical and psychological dualism of the inner world of man as the cause of imperfection and forced suffering of the individual.
