Abstract
AbstractX‐ray and infra‐red studies have been made of the ageing of bayerite in water and in potassium aluminate solution for periods of up to 3 months at 30°. They show that transformation of bayerite into hydrargillite occurs slowly in water, and more rapidly in potassium aluminate solution. The seeding of alkali aluminate solution is also investigated in connexion with these results.
