Abstract
This Paper seeks to address some of the points made in an article written by Fetton (BJVI, 1994, 12:2). It describes the model used by the University of Birmingham Distance Education Course for teachers of children and young people with a visual impairment; and discusses some wider issues of training within the field of visual impairment.
