Abstract

A comparison between three TpxM‐catalyzed (Tpx = scorpionate ligand; M = Cu, Ag) reactions leading to the functionalization of non‐activated, alkane Csp3–H bonds by carbene, nitrene or oxo insertion is presented. Analogies and differences in these transformations are discussed, including main reactive intermediates, selectivity trends and mechanistic interpretations.
