Abstract

A crucial aspect of research on chemicals as potential medicines is the determination of their toxicity, which should be sufficiently low to justify pharmacological applications. First data on the toxicity of aminoxyl (nitroxyl) radicals was obtained while studying the antitumor activity of nitroxyl radicals [1] and from nitroxyl radical radiosensibilization of anoxic bacteria and tissues [2, 3]. New data on the acute toxicity of several spin-labeled neuropsychotropic compounds and their derivatives [4, 5] (mescaline [6], tetronal [7], sidnocarb [8]) has become available.
