Abstract
The tourism sector has had a significant impact on the territorial development of Marrakech city. Although it brings economic benefits, it is important to manage the social and environmental challenges associated with this growth wisely. An integrated approach, the participation of territorial actors, and the preservation of cultural identity are key elements for sustainable territorial development of the city. This article aims to contribute to the reflection on the phenomenon of tourism and its impact on the territorial development of Marrakech city. To achieve this, we will first present the geographical and economic situation of this territory. We will then discuss the data and statistics that position this city as the top tourist destination in Morocco. The final section of this article will examine the effects of tourism on the standard of living and economic sectors of the city's population
