Abstract

This paper is pointed to the tool life variation of ceramic turning tools under the cumulative action of different cutting speed. By using the Taylors’ tool life equation, the cumulative tool life equation is derived. According to the experimental results, it can be found that the tool flank wear variation under the cumulative action of different cutting speed has the positive correlation with the constant cutting speed. And we also found that the tool life of the ceramic turning tools may be affected by the history of the cutting speeds.
