Abstract

Reports on software defined power and its impact on current and future energy markets, data centers, new autonomous technologies, and computing power needs. The infrastructure is dominated by hardware and suppliers that are focused on devices that solve pinpointed problems—smaller, cheaper, and more efficient are typically the leading “values” of the solutions. That is what they do and that is what they are good at. To take the necessary leap in the evolution of power delivery, we need to look at software that enables a holistic view and orchestration of the entire system. A true ecosystem of solutions, working together to increase utilization and resiliency in the system. That is where Software Defined Power comes in. Software Defined Power is not the ability to create power through some magic code, but rather the ability to orchestrate pieces of infrastructure to work together, regardless of the manufacturer, to achieve the greatest returns in optimization.
