Abstract

The development of cloning procedures has made possible a rapid increase in the appearance of reports on the thermodynamic effects of mutations in proteins. It will be helpful if the availability of excellent calorimetric instrumentation leads to an increase in the fraction of these studies directed toward the determination of enthalpies and entropies as well as free energies.
