Abstract

Based on the binary collisions of molecules, the kinetic theory of pure gases is valid for all pressures the higher the temperature increases. The mechanism of relaxation in the molecular internal energy exchange and the peculiar behaviour of polar gases are empirically taken into account through the reduced Planck constant (the de Boer parameter) to give an expression of the thermal conductivity.
