Abstract
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of vancomycin sustained release system and Wright calcium sulfate in the treatment of bone infection after internal fixation for posttraumatic fracture. Methods 68 patients with bone infection after internal fixation for posttraumatic fracture were selected as the object of this study from our hospital from March 2016 to June 2017, and were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The patients in the control group were treated with intravenous injection of sensitive antibiotics, and the patients in the observation group were treated with vancomycin sustained release system and Wright calcium sulfate. The therapeutic effect and various indexes of the two groups were compared. Results The fracture healing time and bone cavity healing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). The infection clearance rate, re-operation rate, and fracture healing rate in the observation group were superior to those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Vancomycin sustained release system and Wright calcium sulfate in the treatment of bone infection after internal fixation for posttraumatic fracture can not only accelerate the healing of fracture and bone cavity, improve the infection clearance rate, and reduce the probability of re-operation to a certain extent.
