Abstract

Mastectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of breast tissue. It is commonly performed as a treatment option for breast cancer. After the mastectomy, there are different options for breast reconstruction, which is the rebuilding of the breast shape. Reconstruction can be done using implants or the patient's own tissue from another part of the body. Mastectomy is often recommended as a treatment option when breast-conserving surgery is not possible or when the individual prefers to have the entire breast removed. It can be a life-saving procedure and an important step in the journey towards recovery and healing. Arm massage can be really beneficial for patients with mastectomy. It can help relieve pain, improve circulation, reduce swelling, and prevent lymphedema. Massaging the affected arm gently and using techniques like lymphatic drainage can promote healing and enhance overall well-being.
