Abstract

Process supervision is generally static and begins when deviations from admissible limits are detected. This paper develops a predictive measure of process integrity as a dynamic safety metric which includes a measure of distance to failure and the capacity to recover. It is aided by dynamic models, state and parameter estimation and global analysis. The identification of attractors and the domains of attraction is performed by cell mapping. The adaptive technique locates attractors and domains of attraction with multi level localized mapping in state space.
