Abstract
AbstractThe earlier developed theory of nonrandom polycondensation (Kuchanov, et al. J Stat Phys 122, 875, 2006) is applied for the description of sol–gel polymerization of alkoxisilanes. The accuracy of simple approximate approaches used in literature to calculate critical conversion at the gel‐point is evaluated. The results of calculation of the characteristics of gel's polymer network governing its elastic properties are presented for the first time. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
