Abstract

This paper first argues that the word dignity should be a countable noun; everybody has many concrete dignities, including all his body organs, all his family members, his power, his wealth, his education, and so on. This paper then makes an exhaustive study of violating dignities and humiliating dignities, the two concepts that are inextricably linked but different in essence. This paper finally explains how human ancestors stood up from four-legged animals, a brand new explanation. When humiliated, all other animals do not (really) fight back, but human ancestors fought back resolutely. Just because of this difference, all other animals remain the same, but human ancestors stood up.
