Abstract

In order to ascertain the influence of certain factors ( E, R) on the shape of the titration curve, it is desirable to define the relative current intensity j as j = i/i 1 2 . The angle of slope of the part of the titration curve near the equivalence point varies between 71.5° and 90° when the applied voltage is 59 mV; this angle increases with the resistance. A small equilibrium constant causes an appreciable current intensity at the equivalence point. The formulae are not suitable for calculating the influence of the applied voltage on the course of the titration in the vicinity of the equivalence point.
