Abstract

The possibility of polythiophene indirect electrodeposition, assisted by CoO(OH) – CoO 2 redox pair, has been theoretically studied. The possibility of CoO 2 -induced electrodeposition and overoxidation has been included into the correspondent mathematical model, which was analyzed by means of linear stability theory. It was shown that in this case the oscillatory and monotonic instability is possible, but less probable than for the classical “polythiophene paradox”. This system may serve as an interesting alternative to the classical polythiopheneelectropolymerization.
