Abstract

Ovine ICSH and its subunits, C I and C II, have been analyzed for their NH 2- and COOH-terminal groups. The phenylisothiocyanate reaction has shown proline to be at the N-terminus of ICSH, C I, and C II, a fact not previously known. Studies with carboxypeptidase A show that the native ICSH has two C-terminal amino acids; namely, serine and leucine. Subunit C I has serine at its COOH-terminus with the sequence ..... Tyr.Tyr.Ser.OH; subunit C II terminates with a leucine residue with the sequence ..... Cys.Ile.Leu.OH.
