Abstract
The tensor calculus for the new alternative minimal auxiliary field formulation of N = 1 supergravity is given. It is used to construct the couplings of this formulation of supergravity to matter. These couplings are found to be different, in several respects to those of the old minimal formulation of N = 1 supergravity.
