Abstract

Purpose: The development of MR conditional pacemakers means that these patients are now able to undergo cardiac MRI. There are strict safety requirements for these to be performed. Pacing devices cause MR artefacts due to signal drop out from the pacing generator and leads, and inhomogeneity within the magnetic field. This inhomogeneity can significantly degrade image quality. We review our initial experience of imaging these patients.
