Abstract

David H. Crombe is assistant dean and associate professor of pharmacy administration at the University of Rhode Island college of pharmacy. Previously he taught for eight years at Rhode Island as assistant professor of bacteriology. He received his BS in pharmacy from Rhode Island and his MS from the University of Southern California. During World War II, he conducted research in malariology at the National Naval Medical Research Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Crombe spent twenty years overseas serving as manager for Merck, Sharp & Dohme for India; managing director of Merck, Sharp & Dohme Australia (PTY), Ltd.; president of Merck, Sharp & Dohme Canada Ltd. and regional manager for the Middle East for E. R. Squibb and Company. Since June 1972 Professor Crombe has been on sabbatical leave in Frankfurt, Germany with Farbwerke-Hoechst.
