Abstract

The importance of information technology (IT) teaching in departments offering Information and Library Studies (ILS) has been recognised for some time. Depart ments must be capable of responding not only to the changing needs of the profession but also to the developments in computer technology. This paper outlines the results of a survey designed to elicit information about current IT provi sion and teaching in UK ILS departments.
