Abstract

Facing the difficulties of audience aging and inheritance discontinuity, traditional shadow play is now impacted by the modern culture. So how to rejuvenate traditional culture by combining it with modern technology has become the research priority of contemporary artists. By analyzing somatic data with the help of Kinect motion sense vidicon and the technology of motion capture, identifying human gestures and then transferring it into instructions which will trigger a digital shadow play show, this thesis achieves the system construction of interactive shadow play as well as provides a simple and interesting interactive mode of shadow play for users.
