Abstract

In this work a simple electrochemical approach was performed for the production of graphene sheet. SDS was used as a surfactant. Raman spectroscopy proved the existence of graphene and the quality of the product was further verified. The morphology of the graphene sheets were analyzed with scanning field emission electron microscope, indicating the crumpled nature of graphene sheets. In addition, atomic force microscopy was employed to determine the thickness of the graphene sheets which varied from monolayer graphene to the stack of a few graphene sheets. The current versus time graph indicated the possibility of achieving a higher exfoliation rate by applying higher voltages.
