Abstract

Abstract Dibenzo[e,k]-2,3-bis(hydroxyimino)-1,4,7,10-tetraaza-2,3,8,9-tetrahydrocyclododecine(LH4) has been prepared from anti-dichloro-glyoxime, 1,2-bis(o-amino-phenylamino)ethane, and sodium bicarbonate in ethanol. The structure of this dioxime is found to be in anti-form according to 1H-n.m.r. and i.r. spectral data. LH4 gives trinuclear complexes [(LH)2M3] with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Pd(II), and UO2(VI) by coordinating through N atoms in both aza and oxime groups. In [(LH3)Cl(C2O)Zn], a six-membered chelate ring has been formed. A mononuclear Pd(II) complex has been also isolated at room temperature. 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance, i.r., and u.v.-visible data are given.
