Abstract

ABSTRACTThe monodisperse dual temperature/pH-sensitive nanoparticles are prepared by distillation-precipitation polymerization, which use the acrylic acid (AA) and N-Isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAM) as the monomer materials and divinyl benzene (DVB) as the crosslinking agent. The nanoparticles with excellent stability shows good pH responsiveness and temperature sensitivity that can shrink freely in response to acidic environmental stimuli. The monodisperse nanoparticles may thus be very promising for use in many applications in which rapid responses to dual environmental stimuli are required.
