Abstract

In this study, the effect of different acrylonitrile contents including 18, 26 and 41% (abbreviated as N18, N26 and N41) on the physical–chemical properties of nitrile–butadiene rubber was studied. In order to correlate, the effect of different acrylonitrile contents and different time immersed in crude oil, the comparison was carried out at comparable value of volume change rate of rubber in crude oil swollen for nitrile–butadiene rubber. The abrasion loss and the friction coefficient in crude oil were studied with different load. In addition, the effects of crude oil, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy analysis have been studied.
