Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for deep transformations in every country. These transformations will require coordinated interventions by different stakeholders working together through innovative partnerships. The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) mobilizes the world’s academic and research institutes to help realize the SDGs. The SDSN pursues its mission by working with more than 1400 academic member institutions in more than 160 countries, organized into 41 networks at national and regional levels that mobilize global and local expertise to support governments around the implementation of the SDGs. At SDSN we would like to partner with the Geological Society of America to promote sustainable development via education, research and innovation programs. This brief presentation would aim at presenting the work of SDSN and our theory and practice of network partnerships for maximized impact and accelerated action.
