Abstract

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are going to expire at the end of 2015r; and the United Nations are currently negotiating a new development agenda for the coming years. The proposal for ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ submitted by the Open Working Group (OWG) in 2014 serves as a starting point; and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has recently suggested indicators for its operationalisation. In a joint effort, numerous experts from the German Development Institute/Deutsches Institut fur Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) have prepared detailed comments on each of the goals and targets suggested by the OWG as well as the indicators suggested by the SDSN.
